The HLT Texas Shootout was formed in 2005 by Jim Collin and Jerry Bissey in memory of their friend and long-time PPG co-worker, Henry L. Talbert. Henry passed away in 2003 from metastatic prostate cancer. Jim and Jerry wanted to honor his memory and raise awareness and funding for the fight against prostate cancer.
Now in its 17th year, the HLT has raised over $400,000 for Prostate Cancer Foundation (pcf.org), the primary beneficiary of all HLT funding.
The HLT sadly lost Jim Collin, who also dealt with prostate cancer, in 2012. Jerry and the many HLT friends, sponsors and volunteers vowed to keep his attitude and momentum going, allowing the HLT to become one of the top contributors to Prostate Cancer Foundation.
The Talbert family is forever grateful to Jim, Jerry and so many others who have dedicated their time and resources, in HLT’s name to help develop improved treatments and ultimately a cure for prostate cancer.
